Outlaw Warblade and Wolfjaw: Healing Triggers, Openings and Target Limits

Compare Outlaw Warblade and Wolfjaw healing, separate recoverable-HP conversion from ordinary attacks, and check the equipped-accessory exception for normally unaffected targets.

On this page 5 sections

Outlaw Warblade can fit shorter melee openings, while Wolfjaw’s sustained attack needs more time. Before choosing either, check whether the target can be drained, which move you are about to use, and whether its resource is available.

Acquire each piece at its own story point

Equipment Unlock First usage check
Outlaw Warblade Defeat Jing Ye in Crimson Forest Distinguish ordinary attacks, the Sha-Chi Combo and Bloodthirst Frenzy
Wolfjaw Defeat Wu Xuan in Pangzhen Check the length of the opening and remaining Phantom Edge uses

The Jing Ye guide covers the warblade encounter. Obtaining the sword does not also give you Wolfjaw; work with what you own.

Outlaw Warblade: distinguish healing hits from HP conversion

Hits against eligible targets can restore HP. Bloodthirst Frenzy is another option when its resource and a suitable opening are available. Ordinary attacks, the Sha-Chi Combo and Power Surge are separate actions; the weapon’s lifesteal property does not mean every input immediately adds health.

The Sha-Chi Combo first converts some HP into recoverable HP. Subsequent eligible hits or healing can restore it, but interruption can leave you in a worse position. At low health, identify the move before using it and retain room to defend or retreat.

Wolfjaw: reserve sustained attacks for a long opening

Wolfjaw’s sustained attack can deal damage and drain health, but interruption can cut the sequence short. A confirmed guard break can provide a more useful opening: check the target’s actual state and the time available before committing. Low health alone does not make the attack safe to start.

The guard-break recommendation concerns attack timing; it is not an added claim that guard break is required to trigger lifesteal. Check Phantom Edge uses separately from the Sha-Chi Essence used by main-weapon Power Surges.

Normally unaffected targets and the equipped-accessory exception

Outlaw Warblade and Wolfjaw do not normally drain Puppets, Golden Bodies or Phantom Bodies. While equipped, the accessory 活木符 allows bleed and lifesteal to affect those three target types at 50% effectiveness.

Without it, prepare another healing source. With it equipped, plan around half effectiveness rather than a guaranteed full heal. Owning the accessory is not the same as having it in an active slot, so inspect the actual loadout.

Check one exchange at a time

  1. Resolve the current attack before looking for a safe hit.
  2. In shorter openings, use a warblade move you can finish. Watch the Sha-Chi Combo’s HP-conversion risk when already low.
  3. Consider Wolfjaw during longer openings; return to defense when the enemy resumes attacking.
  4. If healing fails to meet expectations, check target type, whether 活木符 is equipped and whether the attack connected, then inspect the relevant resource.

This comparison covers usage conditions for these two pieces. Healing amounts, patch and upgrade state have not been independently tested here; it does not promise a half-health refill or a fixed number of loops.

Version scope: Specific patch version not confirmed. Game updates may change these mechanics. Follow the current in-game behavior where it differs.
