Feather Bow Guide: Purge the Sect and the Broken-String Bow

The Feather Bow comes from Purge the Sect, a side quest at Mandate Outpost. Speak to the rooftop archer, clear Ruthless Archer Camp, obtain the Broken-String Bow, then return it for repairs. The repaired bow lets you shoot down hanging packages marked with bow icons on the map.

Find the Brooding Old Archer

Reach Mandate Outpost in Weeping Creek Valley. At the junction with an elderly beggar, turn right and look for a man sitting on the roof to your left. This is the Brooding Old Archer, who gives you Purge the Sect.

The beggar is a landmark; the archer on the roof is the quest giver. Confirm that the quest has started before heading toward the camp.

Have Dread Axe before entering the camp

The route to the camp includes a chained barricade. Obtain Dread Axe by defeating Peng Meng, the Axemaster, then use its chain-breaking traversal ability to open the way.

You can accept the archer’s request before finishing this part of the route. If the chains stop your progress, handle the axe boss first rather than searching for another camp entrance.

Clear the camp and return the bow

1. Head to Creek Valley Plains Entrance. Follow the uphill path to its end, then turn left toward Ruthless Archer Camp.
2. Clear the camp’s enemies, checking for any remaining archers.
3. Collect the Broken-String Bow before leaving. Check your inventory so that you do not return to the outpost without the item needed for the repair.
4. Return to the Brooding Old Archer at Mandate Outpost and give him the broken bow. He repairs it into the Feather Bow.

Broken-String Bow is the item to hand over during Purge the Sect. Clearing the enemies and completing the repair are separate parts of that quest.

Check that you can reach the hanging packages

After obtaining the Feather Bow, the relevant bow icons become available on the map, changing from red to green. You can now shoot down high packages and collect their upgrade items.

If you have cleared the camp but still lack the Feather Bow, check that the quest was accepted, the Broken-String Bow was collected, and the repair conversation was completed at the outpost.

While you are there, follow the Cell Key and Blackstone Fragment route for another short return trip.
