Flaming Mane Repair: From the Extinguished Head to Thorn Routes
Repair the extinguished lion head after the Lion Master encounter, then plan return visits to thorn-blocked routes and related Soul Temper materials.

The Lion Master encounter in the first part of Pangzhen gives you an extinguished lion head. Obtaining the usable Flaming Mane requires a later repair conversation with Lei Dang. Treat the boss reward and the repair as separate checkpoints.

Complete the repair conversation
- Check the reward after the Lion Master fight and confirm that you received the extinguished head.
- Travel to Jingyang Hall (景炀轩) and inspect the courtyard opposite its Bell.
- Enter the room at the far end and speak to Lei Dang.
- Choose the dialogue option to repair the lion head, then check your Phantom Edge equipment list.
If you went straight from the boss fight to a thorn barrier, return to this conversation before assuming that collecting the reward completed the unlock.

Distinguish thorns from fire
Flaming Mane opens the thorn routes described above. The training lion-head material in the mansion’s rear courtyard instead involves using You Loong’s Deluge on fire. Match the obstacle to the appropriate Phantom Edge before planning a return trip.
