Crimson Forest Treasure Hunt: Three Chests and Their Requirements

Quick Hand Zhang’s Crimson Forest treasure request has three separate targets: the Sect Leader’s Snuff Bottle, Bloodstained Seal and Ancient Crossbow. The tunnel switch and the dungeon key unlock different routes. Start the request before treating the camp’s treasure chests as a single collection run.

Rescue Quick Hand Zhang and obtain the list

Find the suspended cage near the hanging-cage path. Follow the cliffside route into the cave, then take the rising branch to reach the mechanism above. Lowering the cage is only the first step: descend to open it and speak to Quick Hand Zhang.

Later, at the thieves’ camp, use the raised route on the left side of the central area to reach him again. Check the available dialogue options and obtain the area’s treasure list. Rescue, request acceptance and final delivery are separate checks.

Match each chest to its requirement

Treasure	Requirement	Search area
Sect Leader’s Snuff Bottle — 掌门鼻烟壶	Crimson Forest tunnel switch	The tunnel opened near the outlaw’s trap
Bloodstained Seal — 染血印章	Reach the camp cave entrance	Left-hand recess after encountering enemies inside
Ancient Crossbow — 古代弩机	Thieves’ camp dungeon key	Right-hand recess inside the locked dungeon

For the bottle, turn right at the outlaw’s-trap junction, deal with the mounted enemy, then take the next right into the tunnel. Look to the butcher’s left at its far end for the switch. Return to the junction near the Bell and open the underground route. Cross the wooden bridge, turn right past the enemies, then follow the left wall to the green chest at the end.

For the seal, leave the camp’s central area to the left and enter the cave guarded by two thieves. Once you encounter enemies inside, inspect the recess on the left. The blocked path beside the camp is easy to confuse with this entrance.

The crossbow mechanism is behind the dungeon’s locked door. Obtain its key through the cliffside house’s cellar route; the Cliffside Lodge key and entrance guide covers that prerequisite. After opening the dungeon, check the green chest in the recess to your right.

Return for the reward

Deliver all three treasures to Quick Hand Zhang to receive the Flying Dagger, a Phantom Edge. If the reward has not appeared, check both the three-item list and the return conversation.

This guide covers the Crimson Forest request. The treasure lists in Village of Lu and Pangzhen are separate requests and need their own checks.

The Ancient Crossbow (古代弩机) chest is by the entrance, before the later arrow-trap exploration. Collecting this treasure does not require treating the whole dungeon as cleared.
